Free printable chore chart for kids
A chore chart turns the jobs a child is asked to do every day into a grid they can see and tick. Pick the jobs, choose the days, and print it for the fridge.
Free to make and print. No signup.
How to make one
- Add your child's name, or leave it blank and write it on after printing.
- Choose their age, which fills in a few starter jobs you can change.
- Edit the jobs and pick a picture for each, so a child who can't read yet still knows what it says.
- Untick any days you don't want, add a reward if you use one, and print.
Start with a short list
A chart a child can finish is one they'll keep using. A few jobs they can do without help works better than a long list that leaves most boxes empty by Wednesday. You can always add a job once the first ones are easy.
Leave a line blank if you like. Blank lines print empty, so there is room to write in a job later in the week.
Make each job something they can see is done
"Tidy my room" means different things to a parent and a six year old. "Toys in the box" or "Clothes in the basket" is clear to both of you, and it is easy to agree when the box gets a tick.
Pick the days that match your week
Not every job happens every day. A chart for school mornings can drop the weekend, and a chart for jobs at one parent's house can show only those days. Fewer columns also means bigger boxes.
By age
- Ages 2 to 4
- Very short jobs done alongside you: putting toys away, feeding a pet with help, carrying their plate to the counter. Pictures matter more than words.
- Ages 5 to 7
- Jobs they can finish on their own: making the bed, setting the table, watering plants. Many children like ticking the box themselves.
- Ages 8 to 12
- Real household jobs with a clear finish: taking out the trash, putting laundry away, sweeping a room. A reward line can name something they chose.
Questions parents ask
Is the chore chart really free?
Yes. Building and printing a chore chart costs nothing and needs no account. The free chart carries a small Chart Sprout credit at the bottom.
Can I make a chart for more than one child?
Yes. Make the first chart, print it, then change the name and jobs and print again. Each child can have their own jobs, theme and days.
How do I change the chart later?
Your chart is kept in this browser, so opening the chart maker again brings it back. Change what you need and print a fresh copy.
Can I print on A4 paper?
Yes. Choose A4 or US letter, and portrait or landscape, before you print. To keep a PDF instead, choose Save as PDF in the print window.
